There’s a bar in town that’s arguably cooler than the remake of Graham Greene’s classic BrightonRock: it’s Brighton Rocks. Ok, they may have had help with the name, although it’s more School of Rock than Brighton Rock, and is sited in Rock Place – on the Kemp Town side of town.
The music connections keep on rolling, as just next door is the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. That said, don’t be expecting a snakebite and black, spitooned, rough arse biker bar, or raver haven: this intimate hangout has more than a little style.
And the food rocks (sorry). Served up on slates, we tucked into some excellent mezze of whatever it was: really well presented and delicious.
With a DJ tucked around the corner, and staff who were more than happy to stick the kettle on for us rather than serve us a pint (we were really cold) it’s definitely earned its place in our hearts.Share on Facebook
