It’s been a long time coming this review. Especially considering we’ve been back to this next café 5/6 times in the last 3 months. So sliding easily into our slow-time review of cafes in Brighton is the fairly new Café Coho at 53 Ship Street.
Greet location: just on the edge of the South Lanes, without being crushed into the rabbit warren, the café has a prime people spot.
Coffee – Ok, down to business. Union hand roasted is a top blend and we’ve always liked the delivery at Coho.
Space: upstairs has a good-sized table and spot on window view up the road. Service is good with the staff happy for you to run a tab for a few people and settle up later.
The food’s ok, nothing really special, but then again the ploughman’s sandwich was great and there are plenty of midday sarnies and snacks to feast on.
As a quick drop back off the high street and option to the chain store coffee bars it’s well worth a try. Bare stone walls add to the chunky modern feel – and it would make a great spot for a reception…
Christmas shopping in Brighton and it’s all getting too much, step out of TKMax – we know you go there – and turn left towards the South Lanes, Coho’s just around the corner , can’t miss it.
We’ll be upstairs; it’s our favourite spot.Share on Facebook
