Nights out in Brighton: It’s White Night

Everybody knows this town parties all night – but usually it’s an experience you only get on weekends in Brighton that feature either a stag or a hen, or booze-crazed summer beach benders.

White Night

White Night: all-night culture

Well, one night of the year this all changes. On October 29th one of the city’s most celebrated cultural events; White Night aims to keep us up long past the wee wee hours, with a programme of arts and entertainments.

Set to coincide with the end of British Summer Time, it’s a celebration of an extra hour of darkness. Strange and wonderful things happen at night – as you shall see…

A mix of indoor and outdoor events fills the witching hours. As the saying goes, there’s something for everyone – and something for everyone who’s a little weird…

Urban Future Golf has got our attention, as has Pedal Cinema -an event running at the Fortune of War where you’ll get the chance to generate enough power to keep the movies showing.

But, if you like full-on, interactive art experiences, with DJs and cocktails, take a gander at ‘Like Shadows: A Celebration of Shyness’, which runs at the Phoenix Gallery.

And if you are arriving at the train station and just passing through on your way to your accommodation in Brighton, pop your head into the window of the BBC offices on Queen’s Road there’s an all night screening of rare archive footage.

Visiting Brighton for the first time? White Night proves what us lucky residents already know: this is a town of delights and truly memorable nights.
