What’s happening on this year’s Xmas weekends in Brighton
Christmas is coming! It may be only the beginning of November, but it’s already time to get planning your xmas weekends in Brighton – and a closer look at the What’s on pages reveals the celebs are lining up to entertain you…
People always love Brighton in the summer – hardly surprising – but they often overlook the town as a destination to spend a Christmas weekend. And the week between Xmas and New Year is the perfect time to pick up a deal on a B&B in Brighton. Why, because while everyone else is snoozing off the food and putting up with the in-laws and screaming kids – the clever people get away from it all, get themselves off to the seafront and pick up Christmas & New Year hotel offers.
Attractions in Brighton are year-round and the entertainment venues have some of the best acts on over the Xmas hols.
Here’s a quick ‘what’s on’ this Xmas in Brighton at the Brighton Centre – and let’s play spot the international superstars…
The Saturdays, Bryan Adams, Status Quo, Jools Holland, Steven Merchant, Example
And in January ‘One Direction’ are in town – much teen screaming!

Let's ride!
Weekends in Brighton are the perfect antidote to the seasonal flu we’ve all been suffering from, especially when you’ve got a bike and an afternoon free.
So what if you want to cycle when you are visiting Brighton? Can you just roll up (sorry) and hire a bike for the day? The simple answer is: Yes. And there’s moves afoot to roll-out (again) an official city-wide bike hire thingy.
But until Brighton gets its Boris Bikes, there are still a few opportunities for families coming to Brighton for the weekend to get on a bike and ride.
In the summer months there are several places to get a two-wheeler, and from spring you’ll see a couple of rental places spring put of hibernation from the arches just behind the sea front.
Let’s hope Boris Bikes don’t put these people out of business…
Brighton is one of those cycling towns the previous government invested money into, and it appears to have paid off. From the end of the Hove Lawns all the way to the Marina there’s cycle paths. And you’ll find them around town – even though they are confusing at first.
So if you are planning future weekends visiting Brighton, bring your bike. Or take a look at the links below to find the best in the Brighton Bike Business – they’ll soon have you up and running (riding, doh!).
