Ashdown Forest Llama Park
Ashdown Forest Llama Park is located in East Sussex, less than 30 miles from Brighton's city centre and every BnB Brighton has to offer. A rare and unusual sight, its herd of over 100 llamas and alpacas, nestled into the great British countryside is sure to amuse and surprise the whole family, making it a great addition to any weekend in Brighton.
Open to the public since 1996, the Ashdown herd has grown to include eight reindeer in their midst. In 2010, four baby reindeer were born on-site. The aim of the centre is to educate the public about these beautiful and interesting animals, while raising llamas and alpacas in a stress free and caring environment. The park really does provide a rare opportunity to experience these strange creatures up close, making for an educational and enjoyable trip.
The park is open throughout the year, and admission prices range from between £4 and £6, with discounted ticket prices for families at £21. Coffee shops, museums, visitor centres, and gift shops are all available in the park, but a great day out would be complete with a family picnic, surrounded by these surreal and fascinating animals.
Situated in the midst of the Sussex countryside, the Llama Park is most easily accessed by car from your Brighton BnB, with journey time at approximately 45 minutes. The park is just 5 miles south of East Grinstead, and trains run here frequently from Brighton station. Thanks to its close proximity to Brighton, the Ashdown Forest Llama Park is a great way to spend two or three hours out of the city – though you'd believe you're closer to Peru than Sussex!
