Our Greek Island Holiday Home

Experience Aegina an island rich in Greek history and tradition.

My name is Nicholas Head and I am the proprietor of the Ambassador Hotel Brighton. I have a holiday home on the Greek island of Aegina, a destination which most of the world is unfamiliar with. Aegina is a hidden gem enjoyed predominately by Greek Nationals and they do a good job keeping it a secret. Aegina does not suffer from being on the mainstream tourist trail. Thankfully you will not find a McDonalds anywhere, you can immerse yourself completely in authentic Greek culture, cuisine and way of life.

Aegina can be reached within 3 hours from Athens International Airport. You have to take an 80 minute ferry or 40 minute Flying Dolphin (Commercial Catamaran) journey to get to Aegina from the Port of Piraeus. Personally I prefer to get the ferry and soak up the leisurely view making my travels to Aegina pleasant each and every time.

My holiday home is a spacious traditional Greek Island property 150M from the beach. The property consists of a Villa and an Apartment which can be rented together or seperately.  The villa sleeps up to 9 people and the Apartment up to 4 people.

The climate is pleasant all year round: winter mean temperature is never less than + 2C to + 3C and midday 10C up to 20C even in December. On Christmas Day a couple of years ago it reached 25C. From late March / early April you can expect 18 to 25 degrees C. From May to November 20C up to 34C mid summer. This year in Oct we had +25C many days. Sun and clear skies are the norm all year round 2 out of every 3 days even in Winter. You can swim comfortably until end of November.

Both the Villa and Apartment have under floor heating and air conditioning for summer.

The prices are as follows:

The Villa sleeping up to 9 people £1200 per week New Years and High Season, less other dates.

The Apartment sleeping up to 4 people from £450 per week New Years and High Season, less other dates.

The properties are ideal for families or groups of friends to enjoy one of the lesser known Greek islands.

Feel free to contact me on + 44 (0)1273 67 68 69 and ask for Nicholas Head for any enquiries about the holiday rental or for any more information. I have been visiting this beautiful island for 18 years and will happily enlighten you on why Aegina is an idyllic holiday destination with lots to offer.

Some USP's about Aegina:

The island has very clear and healthy air to breathe,

short distance from Athens for a day trip to visit Acropolis etc,

in the centre of the island high on the mountainside: Aghios (Saint) Nectarious Monastery and Well of Energy (like St Francis of Assisi) - Nectarious is the last Orthodox Christian Saint.

The Temple of Afaia circa 2000BC the most perfectly preserved of the 3 temples of the ancient world which is one of the vortex creating a perfect equilateral triangle with the Acropolis in Athens to the north and the Temple of Posidon (Neptune) at Sounion to the NE - all clearly visible most days so clear is the air of Aegina.

Finally the almost deserted beaches, fish, food, culture, peace when you want it and lively small towns.
