  Things to do for Free

  • The Beach - at the bottom of the road
  • Paddling Pool - lots of fun for young children – state of the art refurbishment this year. Find it: On the beach level promenade on the west side of the pier near the old west pier.
  • On The Beach - Basket Ball, Beach Football (on sand in a purpose made pitch), Skate Boarding. Find it On the beach level promenade on the west side of the pier near the old west pier.
  • The Marina – over 3,000 boats moored there; yacht’s, power boats & fishing boats – loads to see and a walk round can take the best part of an hour; better still walk there.
  • The Armoury - Find it: In the Laines, have a wander, loads to see.
  • Brighton Museum – Find it: In the Royal Pavilion Gardens
  • Festivals - Brighton Festival & Brighton Fringe Festival - every year – Brighton Festival 2nd weekend Children’s Costume Parade; 3rd weekend Street Entertainers in the North Lanes; last Sunday a spectacular outdoor finale event in the afternoon and evening with fireworks plus art of every kind all over the city.
  • Every Saturday Night Easter to end Oct – Fireworks at dusk in High Summer and around 9pm other weeks. Where: just off the Pier from a boat usually (if the prevailing wind is as usual from the west or south west) at the end of our street New Steine or on the west side of the Pier if the wind is from the east (very rare!)
